Charity Brighouse aims to provide youth with volunteering opportunities in their fields of interest. Using these events and opportunities, youth are able to contribute to their communities while exploring and expanding their passions.
By volunteering, Charity Brighouse stresses the importance of learning through first hand experience.
Charity Brighouse believes that youths will grow through experiences. Therefore, it will enable Charity Brighouse to complete its mission: to prepare youth to become leaders of
today and tomorrow.
Not many youth organizations tackle the problem of the Environment. However, global warming is one of the biggest problems in society and it will continue to grow unless we start to have a “greener” point of view. “Plans to protect air and water, wilderness and wildlife are in fact plans to protect man.” – Stewart Udall
Health is a big issue around the world even in developed countries. There are many diseases that can be prevented which would save many lives and even the slighted bit of help can create a huge difference. “The first wealth is health” – Robert Waldo Emerson
In our city, there are many problems such as the lack of food, shelter, and other basic necessities. This directly impacts the lives of many, children and adults alike. Instead of focusing on a global issue, this pillar is aimed to help people closer to us. “What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.” – Kurt Vonnegut
Focusing on youth education, Charity Brighouse will work to enrich the lives of children in more impoverished countries and within our own community. We will achieve this by providing school supplies, books, and funds for education (ex to build schools in less developed countries). “Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime”. – Anne Isabella
